Dear parent and/or guardian,
You are receiving this letter to inform you that today, the district has three new confirmed cases of students with COVID 19, bringing the district total to four. At this time we have no confirmed or suspected transmission within the school environment.
Vernon or Richland County Health officials will personally notify anyone who has been identified as a close contact to the confirmed cases. Notification will occur as soon as possible.
We anticipated this would happen. Our intention is to mitigate exposure and will continue to be our practice. Our plan moving forward when suspect or confirmed cases are reported to district officials includes:
- 1)Continue to work with the Vernon or Richland County Health Department who are providing the district with best practice recommendations and are conducting contact tracing based on interviews with those testing positive and classroom seating charts.
- 2)Continue to require wearing masks, daily handwashing practices, social distancing, and minimum contact during the school day through classroom practice.
- 3)The district will continue best practice cleaning procedures.
- 4)The district will continue to monitor developments and change protocols as needed.
If you are not contacted personally by the Vernon or Richland County Health Department, our hope is you would continue to send your child to school to continue the learning process. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding our response to suspect or confirmed cases.
